 Alternate Universe/Reality of DC Entertainment

DC and Warner Bros. Expansion:

DC and Warner Bros. could have taken a more integrated approach to expanding their universe across various platforms in the 2010s by introducing new storylines, locations and characters from the DC movie or TV universe into the DC comic multiverse, creating a cohesive and interconnected world where theaters showcase new movies exploring lesser-known characters and storylines, such as Zatanna, Booster Gold or the Question, while TV channels like CW, HBO, TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network and Boomerang cater to different audiences with CW focusing on teen and young adult dramas and HBO producing darker, more mature content. Streaming platforms like Netflix, HBO Max and Amazon Prime offer exclusive series and movies, including animated series, live-action adaptations and spin-offs, thereby expanding the DC universe through live-action and animated content across theaters, TV channels and streaming platforms, integrating elements from the movie and TV universe into the DC Comics multiverse for a unified storytelling experience.

Geoff Johns or Greg Berlanti as Head of DC Studios:

If Geoff Johns or Greg Berlanti had become the head of DC Studios, similar to James Gunn's role, they could have crafted a unique DC movie universe post-DCEU, standing apart from both the MCU and DCEU by focusing on character-driven stories, diverse representation, mythology and history, emphasizing deep character development, complex narratives, interconnected themes and occasional crossover events. This universe would explore different genres and tones, with movies deeply focused on character development, standalone films connected by overarching themes, highlighting characters like Nightwing, Zatanna and Martian Manhunter, blending classic heroes with fresh faces, balancing dark and gritty themes (e.g., The Batman) with lighter, mythic storytelling (e.g., Wonder Woman), incorporating elements of mythology and ancient history, reflecting diverse experiences and backgrounds, and restructuring the DC Universe post-DCEU (after Aquaman 2 and The Flash) with a fresh cinematic vision.

Young Justice on Toonami and HBO Max:

Reviving Young Justice on Toonami and HBO Max, with Seasons 3 and 4 re-aired, alongside new Seasons 5 and 6, would expand the Earth-16 universe, attracting a broader audience and allowing for a satisfying story conclusion. This expansion could include spinoffs like Generation Justice, focusing on the next generation of heroes: Jonathan Kent (Superman's son), Artur (Aquaman's son), Damian Wayne (Batman's son), the Tornado Twins (Flash's children), Lian Harper (Roy Harper's daughter), and Anissa and Jennifer Pierce (Black Lightning's daughters). Further expanding the Earth-16 universe through comic books and spinoffs would delve deeper into the lore, introducing mature themes, action and well-developed character dynamics appealing to teenage-to-young-adult audiences on Toonami and Adult Swim.

Evolution of Adult Swim and Toonami:

Adult Swim's evolution into a full-fledged channel and Toonami's split into two blocks could transform both platforms into premier destinations for animated and live-action content, offering more DC, Ben 10 and anime shows for diverse audiences. Adult Swim would cater to older viewers with mature content, while Toonami's blocks – one on Cartoon Network and Toonami Adult on Adult Swim – would provide age-appropriate programming, blending classic cartoons, new animated series and action-packed shows for both younger and older viewers.

DC SNK Crossover Fighting Game:

A DC vs. SNK crossover fighting game would be a dream collaboration, blending the rich lore of DC Comics with the dynamic fighting mechanics and iconic roster of SNK in a style reminiscent of the Marvel vs. Capcom series. This game could feature legendary DC characters like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman alongside SNK icons such as Terry Bogard, Kyo Kusanagi, and Mai Shiranui, creating an action-packed and visually stunning experience. The gameplay would combine DC’s superpowers with SNK’s martial arts expertise, offering diverse, strategic combat styles and thrilling matchups. A compelling story mode could unite the DC Universe and SNK fighters in an epic narrative filled with battles, alliances, and high stakes. Enhanced by high-quality graphics, fluid animations, and spectacular special effects, this game would deliver an unforgettable experience for fans of both universes while showcasing the unique styles and strengths of DC and SNK characters.

Injustice 3 by NetherRealm Studios:

Injustice 3, developed by NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros., could build on the success of its predecessors by featuring enhanced graphics, refined gameplay mechanics, and an expanded roster of characters from the DC Universe, including both new additions and returning favorites, each with unique abilities and moves. The game could deliver a more immersive experience through updated visuals and dynamic combat options, while continuing the series’ hallmark cinematic storytelling. Set in the aftermath of Injustice 2, the narrative could explore the consequences of previous events, introducing new conflicts, alliances, and twists to captivate players and expand the gripping Injustice universe.

These scenarios would have created a vibrant and diverse DC Universe, offering fans a multitude of ways to engage with their favorite characters and stories. What do you think would be the most exciting part of this alternate DC Universe?

Whether appearing in live-action projects like the Arrowverse or animated series such as Young Justice, these original creations would enrich the DC Universe by providing innovative character interactions and expanding the narrative possibilities across both mediums.

DC African Heritage Anthology:

The African Heritage Anthology, a groundbreaking project by Warner Bros. and DC, could spotlight Black DC heroes rooted in African culture, heritage, and experiences through a comic book series and animated anthology. Featuring a diverse roster of iconic characters like John Stewart, Vixen, Batwing, Steel, Cyborg, and Black Lightning, alongside newly introduced African heroes, this anthology would delve into the rich traditions, mythologies, and perspectives of the African continent and its diaspora. With narratives that explore themes of identity, community, and heroism, the project would weave thrilling storylines celebrating African culture and highlighting the unique experiences of its characters. By providing deep cultural context and representation, the anthology would expand the DC Universe with fresh voices and perspectives, creating greater visibility for Black creators and heroes, while delivering a multimedia experience that resonates with global audiences.

Milestone Animated Anthology Project:

The Milestone Animated Anthology Project, a collaboration between DC, Warner Bros., and the founders of Milestone Media, would honor the visionary legacy of Dwayne McDuffie and the iconic Milestone universe by showcasing beloved characters such as Static, Icon, Rocket, and Hardware. This anthology series would celebrate Milestone Media’s rich heritage by highlighting diverse voices and exploring themes of identity, social justice, and empowerment, while offering compelling storytelling that reflects the depth and complexity of its characters and worlds. With a substantial budget allocated for high-quality animation and character design, DC Studios could partner with experienced overseas animation studios in Korea or Japan to deliver top-notch production. The project would also feature an experienced and talented voice cast to bring these dynamic characters to life, broadening the DC Universe, attracting new audiences, and celebrating the diversity and innovation at the heart of Milestone Media’s legacy.

Super Sons Animated Series:

Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment's Super Sons animated series follows Jonathan Samuel Kent (Superboy) and Damian Wayne (Robin) as they navigate thrilling adventures, fight crime, and forge their paths, blending action, humor and heart. Airing on Cartoon Network/Toonami and streaming exclusively on HBO Max, this series targets boys aged 11-16, exploring family legacies, responsibilities of being Superman's and Batman's sons, and deep character development. With tones and themes similar to "My Adventures with Superman" and "Batman: Caped Crusader," the show offers a fresh take on the DC Universe.

 DC Anime Project:

A DC Anime Project, produced by Warner Bros. Japan and DC Studios in collaboration with renowned Japanese studios like MAPPA, Geno Studio, D'Art Shtajio, or David Production, would reimagine iconic DC characters through anime, blending Eastern and Western storytelling traditions, creating a unique visual experience, attracting new audiences and delivering original storylines and characters. This project combines classic comic book storylines with fresh narratives, showcasing Japanese animation styles, streaming on HBO Max, available on DVD and Blu-ray, airing on Toonami or Adult Swim, featuring iconic heroes and villains reimagined through anime aesthetics, high-quality animation and distinctive storytelling.

Rebranded HBO Max as WB Max or Warner Max:

Rebranding HBO Max as WB Max or Warner Max would fortify Warner Bros.' streaming presence, integrating its vast library across DC Comics, Hobbit/Lord of the Rings, Hanna-Barbera, Looney Tunes, Mortal Kombat, Dune, Thundercats, Ben 10, and Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts, becoming the ultimate destination for fans and primary
