Future Plans for Journaling and Multimedia
My Plan(journaling and Multimedia)
My novels represent a sophisticated fusion of memoir, fiction, self-help, and philosophy, intricately woven with personal experiences, creative influences, and imaginative storytelling to delve deeply into mental health, neurodivergence, and the complexities of identity. Drawing from my reflections on growing up as an African American man with autism, these works explore themes of faith, self-identity, and philosophical perspectives, influenced by historical figures like Malcolm X, Barack Obama, Nelson Mandela, and Friedrich Nietzsche. I blend reality with fiction, featuring "What If" scenarios inspired by anime, Power Rangers, Transformers, Marvel, and DC, alongside short stories imbued with sci-fi, fantasy, and dystopian elements, often centered around supernatural dreams and nightmares. My novels address heroism, mental battles, spiritual warfare, and cultural mythology, engaging with the philosophies of thinkers like Nietzsche, Charles Darwin, and Martin Luther King Jr., while incorporating biblical references and theological reflections. Central themes include mental health, self-worth, existential crises, and the intersection of mythology, history, and contemporary struggles. These works also explore science, technology, and world cultures, focusing on martial arts, military history, and combat philosophy, drawing from African, Asian, and Indigenous cultural perspectives. My novels touch on topics such as music, pregnancy, and the depth of the human experience, with a core emphasis on self-help, offering strategies to cope with self-harm, anxiety, and depression while embracing neurodivergence as a source of strength. Through affirmations, self-reflection exercises, and journaling techniques, my books aim to empower readers to channel their creativity and emotions productively, encouraging them to document their thoughts as a means of self-expression. The peak of my ideas will serve as the foundation for a multimedia expansion into TV, animation, and film. The marketing strategy targets young adults (16-34), particularly neurodivergent individuals, creatives, and people of color, across regions such as the USA, Canada, the UK, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, China, Japan, Korea, and India. A strong social media presence will be cultivated on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook Groups, Reddit, and Discord, encouraging engagement around the novel’s narrative themes, mental health, and popular culture. A Kickstarter campaign will fund special editions, audiobooks, and exclusive content, with stretch goals for multimedia expansions, such as animated adaptations and digital comics. Collaborative efforts with booktubers, podcasters, influencers, neurodivergent content creators, and independent bookstores will include live readings. Paid advertising will target specific audiences on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, supplemented by promotions on Amazon and Goodreads and SEO strategies to boost organic reach. My long-term plan is for my project to evolve into an animated television series, with an extended universe adapted into graphic novels and a companion podcast to explore its themes in greater depth. The novels are based on my journals and diaries hybrid, combining personal thoughts, real-life events, creative ideas, emotions, paranoid delusions, imagination, and plans, drawing inspiration from figures like Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr., Barack Obama, Charles Darwin, and William Shakespeare. It integrates diverse philosophical ideologies such as Liberalism, Nationalism, Militarism, Afrocentrism, Metaphysics, and Transhumanism, alongside Pan-Africanism, Globalism, Technocracy, Multiculturalism, Mysticism, Posthumanism, and Theocracy. The narrative constructs martial arts, military history, mythology, religion, biblical stories, animals, technology, science, pregnancy, childbirth, and world cultures into a tapestry that explores identity, overcoming struggles, and creative self-expression. Those novels serve as both a therapeutic outlet and a narrative reflecting my journey, bringing resilience and emotional growth. Drawing inspiration from my special interests, my books will be connected to the multimedia franchise I am planning by starting with an anime series blending martial arts and science fiction, influenced by Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Star Trek, Dragon Ball, Star Wars, Rush Hour, Shang Chi, The Boondocks, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Cobra Kai/Karate Kid, Black Panther, and Fatal Fury. This series will merge African and Asian cultures, focusing on themes of honor, strength, and diversity, aiming to empower Black audiences and people of color. A second anime project will focus on a mature, young adult fantasy ninja action series, combining martial arts with supernatural elements and large-scale battles, inspired by Ninjago, Batman, Naruto, Doctor Strange, Ninja Gaiden, Nioh, Daredevil, Shinobi, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ninja Scroll, Blade, Devil May Cry, and Yu-Gi-Oh!, targeting an older audience. An Afrocentric, Afro-futuristic anime rooted in Nigerian, South African, and Egyptian cultures will center on Black empowerment, political reform, and cultural pride, drawing from Black Panther, The Lion King, The Boondocks, Children of Blood and Bone, Golden Kamuy, Overwatch, The Legend of Korra, Black Adam, Olympus has Fallen, Yasuke, Iwaju, The Woman King, Noughts & Crosses, Code Geass, Star Wars: Clone Wars, G.I. Joe, Gundam, and Final Fantasy. Publishing this journal-turned-novel will create a deep connection with readers, especially those dealing with anxiety, depression, and neurodivergence, offering a platform for self-expression, healing, and solidarity. Combining these themes establishes the foundation for multimedia projects that connect with an expansive audience, encouraging others to embrace their creativity and explore their unique journeys. To transform my journal-diary hybrid into a structured, publishable novel, I must organize and refine my thoughts while maintaining my mental well-being and supporting my journey of self-exploration, particularly as someone on the autism spectrum. This journal serves as a therapeutic outlet, helping reduce anxiety, stress, and depression, while also preventing harmful behaviors. I will categorize entries into recurring themes such as personal growth, mental health, martial arts (Karate, Kung Fu, Taekwondo, Boxing, Wrestling), military history (Air Force, Army, Navy), mythology and folklore (Greek, Egyptian, Yoruba, Japanese, Aztec, Hindu, Chinese), religion (Christianity, Islam), biblical stories (Old and New Testaments), animals (Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Sharks, Orcas, Gorillas, Hawks, Falcons), science and technology (Genetics, Physics, Robotics), pregnancy and childbirth, and world cultures (Africa, Asia, Latin America). These themes highlight identity exploration, overcoming struggles, and creative self-expression, constructing a rational and irrational narrative that merges nonfiction with fiction, by integrating philosophical, religious, and historical elements to use martial arts as symbols of discipline and resilience, mythology for allegorical depth, faith for self-discovery and mental health, and science for imaginative storytelling to structure the work as a hybrid novel. The format may be nonlinear, blending dreams, memories, and allegories, or follow a chronological progression depending on the flow of ideas. To better organize the work, I will digitize my journal using tools like Evernote or OneNote, creating folders, color-coded tags, and outlines to maintain momentum. Writing will be a mindful ritual, incorporating daily reflections, weekly goals, and chapter breakdowns to keep me on track. Periodically reviewing entries will help track linguistic and emotional growth, deepening my understanding of recurring themes. To enrich the narrative, I will incorporate legendary texts like the Bible, Quran, Kojiki, Torah, Daozang, Iliad, Odyssey, Sun Tzu’s Art of War, and Miyamoto Musashi’s Book of Five Rings, exploring timeless themes of struggle, wisdom, and transformation. This approach will allow me to combine personal reflections with universal archetypes, creating a narrative that resonates with readers globally, especially in regions such as the USA, UK, Canada, Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, France, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, China, India, and South Korea, while offering a deep exploration of my emotions, imagination, and the human experience. I convert my physical journals into digital diaries to turn them into hybrid nonfiction/fiction novels and audiobooks or ebooks to structure them in a way that highlights my journey and creative influences. These influences include philosophical ideologies, mental health coping mechanisms, martial arts, mythology, history, folklore, religion, biblical stories, animals, technology, world cultures, music, and my special interests in Marvel, DC, G.I. Joe, Disney, Star Wars, Star Trek, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, anime/manga, and Japanese video games. My journal will reflect personal growth and creative writing, blending real-life experiences with imaginative scenarios. It could evolve into a hybrid memoir-fiction narrative, blending real-life struggles with speculative genres like science fiction, fantasy, or historical fiction. For better organization and character development, digital tools like Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Scrivener, Obsidian, Notion, Aeon Timeline, and Corkboard will be invaluable, with voice-to-text tools like Dragon Speech Recognition aiding the writing process. For audiobook adaptation, I’ll need professional recording equipment like the Blue Yeti microphone and software like Adobe Audition, for editing. Narration, voice modulation, pacing, and sound effects will be decisive in crafting an engaging listening experience, with platforms like Audible, and Findaway Voices assisting in distribution. I am brainstorming title ideas for my novels like XYZ Flies, The Journal of an Odd African Man, Autistic African Man in America, Libra Diary, and Skewed Reality offer varying degrees of insight into the narrative’s themes. XYZ Flies is abstract and mysterious but lacks context, while The Journal of an Odd African Man presents a strong narrative voice. Autistic African Man in America is direct yet may give away too much, and Skewed Reality offers a mysterious and philosophical tone. Alongside my creative ventures, my journal-diary hybrid will also serve as a therapeutic tool for self-expression, helping me address mental health concerns and prevent self-harm. It will encourage me to explore both real-life and fictional scenarios, document creative ideas, and reflect on my emotional journey. It will foster creativity and self-discovery while managing emotions in a way that promotes healing.
