8 things I want to see in a Street Fighter Movie

One year ago, I watched the reboot version of Mortal Kombat in theaters. I was amazed that WB, New Line Cinema, and James Wan take the source material and lore of the fighting game seriously. The movie wasn't bad or good or even perfect, but it was okay to some viewers, and I gave this movie 78% or a C+. It is not like the other classic MK movies in the 90s, but it's a great movie. Also, I watched the first animated Mortal Kombat movie, Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge. It was more relaxed than the movies, and the second time I saw an animated version of MK characters since Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realms.

There is a Fighting game that is the opposite of Mortal Kombat and inspired Boon and Tobias to create the game into a franchise. We know today and made in Japan from a company that creates Mega Man, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Ace Attorney, Devil May Cry, and the rival fighting game franchise to Mortal Kombat: Street Fighter.

Street Fighter is the most popular fighting game franchise in Japan, with advanced gameplay, diverse characters, and excellent stages based on real-life locations. The franchise has two live-action movies, crappy and worst, a comic book series created by Udon Entertainment and the best anime movie ever made.

There was a fan film/web series called Street Fighter: Assassin Fist directed and written by Joey Ansah and Christian Howard, who played the main characters, Akuma, and Ken. This web series is better than the other two movies and takes the source material and lore well and has a diverse cast and is better than other movies based on fighting games such as Tekken, King of Fighters, and Dead or Alive.

I wish Capcom Street Fighter would have another live-action reboot like Mortal Kombat Reboot, not like the other two Street Fighter movies in the old days. Suppose the film is good by reviews and ratings or critics. In that case, that is what I want for the Street Fighter franchise.

Street Fighter World Warrior was the second season of the Street Fighter Assassin Fist Series produced by Entertainment One.

But the project is paused or canceled because creative difference Street Fighter Resurrection

It needs another chance on the big screen in theaters or small screen on a streaming channel.

With Street Fighter 6 coming next year, I think another live action movie will expand the lore/mythology of the Street Fighter franchise.

1.Story:

The street fighter storyline is confusing because they are in chronological order like this:

Street Fighter 1, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter 4

Street Fighter 5, Street Fighter 3, and Street Fighter 6

The movie needs to be accurate and respectful to the source material, lore of the Street Fighter universe. The plot of the movie must be more Dramatic, Funny, Action driven, and motivated.

Few of the Street fighters must be round and Complex and have great development. The themes must have Martial arts and science fantasy reminiscent of the street fighter games.

Inspiration elements will be like Shang Chi, Fast and Furious, G.I. Joe, Never Back Down, Brother, and Rush Hour and a little influence from Triple Threat, xXx, and Point Break.

It will be the opposite of the Mortal Kombat 2021 movie and will have a PG-13 rating. The other two SF movies have different themes and stories such as the 1994 movie is a parody comedy of war movies, and 2009's Legend of Chun-Li is an intense Crime drama.

Like the street fighter games, the movie will focus on the World Warrior Tournament and the Main antagonist will be M. Bison or Sagat.

2.Cast/Characters:

It requires a diverse cast of actors to play the original characters such as Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, and M. Bison and create new characters for the movie.

We want to see our fan favorite characters back to the big screen such as Dhalsim, Blanka, Cammy, M. Bison, Vega, Balrog, and Sagat and other street fighter characters we never seen the movies before like Sakura, Dan Hibiki, Fei Long, Akuma, Juri and Rashid.

I think creating original characters exclusive for a street fighter movie is not like Cole Young from Mortal Kombat. They will be supporting characters for the main protagonists or Antagonists, like Sawada and the Bison Troopers from the 1994 movie.

3.Fight Scenes:

The fight scenes are important for the street fighter movie because it has a martial arts theme.

It needs Actors with martial arts skills for the roles of the characters.

If some actors don’t the skills, they will hire Fight choreographer to train them for the movie. Also hire Stunt doubles and Action coordinators like the Mortal Kombat reboot.

4.Production team:

I think this movie needs a good director, writer, or producers such as Justin Lin, Destin Daniel Cretton, Brett Ratner, Alfred Gough, Jesse v Johnson or even Joey Ansah. He knows the Street Fighter lore and needs a production company or movie studio except for Universal and the 20th century studios. I think Entertainment One or Lionsgate will acquire the rights of Street Fighter to make the movie and spinoff for the franchise.

5.Expanding the franchise:

I think i want to expand it by having sequels or spin-offs like the MCU and DCEU. Also, Capcom needs to make another anime series/movie separate from the live-action film and introduce a new storyline and diverse characters. Also have standalone movies with the other street fighter characters and a Final Fight spinoff movie or tv series.

6.Ryu & Ken are main characters:

Ryu and Ken are the pillars for the Street Fighter franchise.

They were the first playable characters in the first street fighter game in 1987.

The other two Street Fighter movies had different lead characters:

Street fighter 1994 has Jean Claude van Damme as Guile.

Street fighter legend of Chun-Li has Kristen Kreuk as Chun-Li.

They were partners in the street fighter games and they want revenge on M. Bison for killing their loved ones.

Mike Moh and Christian Howard played the roles very well from Street Fighter: Assassin Fist and Resurrection.

There are some great actors for the roles of Ryu and Ken:

Ryan Potter from Supah Ninjas, Titans, Mackenyu from Pacific Rim, One Piece.

Leo Howard from Kickin' It, Tanner Buchanan from Cobra Kai.

7.Special Moves:

Street Fighter has some Superhuman martial arts techniques such as Hadoken, Shoryuken, Sonic Boom, Psycho Crusher, Yogi Flame, and Spinning Bird Kick.

In Fighting games, every martial artist uses his/her

powers and ability to defeat the opponent or final boss.

With the help of CGI software and VFX technology to mimic or analyze the special moves from the games, we will see Ryu shoot a Hadouken on the big screen.

8.Music:

The music of the street fighter is diverse and fresh and relates to the characters and their stages.

Hired Composers from the old SF games such as Yoko Shimomura, and Hideki Okugawa or famous movie composers like Junkie XL, Brian Tyler, Steven Price, and Joel West.

The 1994’s street fighter movie has a badass soundtrack composed by the MCs of hip hop such as Ice Cube, Nas, and MC Hammer.

Popular modern singers and artists such as Major Lazer, Rich Brian, Run the Jewels, Ohana Bam, Jack Harlow, Stormzy, Krept & Konan, AKLO, Miyachi, and JP the Wavy to Sing their own song with some samples of theme songs from each character from the Street Fighter 2 game.
