SF needs a third chance in the big screen

SF needs a third chance in the big screen

One year ago, I watched the reboot version of Mortal Kombat in theaters. I was amazed that WB, New Line Cinema, and James Wan take the source material and lore of the fighting game seriously. The movie wasn't bad or good or even perfect, but it was okay to some viewers, and I gave this movie 78% or a C+. It is not like the other classic MK movies in the 90s, but it's a great movie. Also, I watched the first animated Mortal Kombat movie, Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge. It was more relaxed than the movies, and the second time I saw an animated version of MK characters since Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realms.

There is a Fighting game that is the opposite of Mortal Kombat and inspired Boon and Tobias to create the game into a franchise. We know today and made in Japan from a company that creates Mega Man, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Ace Attorney, Devil May Cry, and rival fighting game franchise to Mortal Kombat: Street Fighter. Street Fighter is the most popular fighting game franchise in Japan, with advanced gameplay, diverse characters, and excellent stages based on real-life locations. The franchise has two live-action movies, crappy and worst, and comic book series created by Udon Entertainment and the best anime movie ever made.

Hey, they have esport events such as Evo and have crossover games with other franchises such as Marvel, SNK, and Tekken. There was fan film/web series called Street Fighter: Assassin Fist directed and written by Joey Ansah and Christian Howard, who played the main characters, Akuma and Ken. This web series is better than the other two movies and takes the source material and lore well and has a diverse cast and is better than other movies based on fighting games such as Tekken, King of Fighters, and Dead or Alive.

Suppose Capcom will follow the creative strategy of NetherRealm Studios. In that case, it will expand the franchise, lore, game development and create new diverse characters for the Street Fighter universe. It will be better than Mortal Kombat. I wish Capcom Street Fighter would have another live-action reboot similar to Mortal Kombat Reboot, not like the other two Street Fighter movies in the old days. I think this movie needs a good director, writer, or producers such as Justin Lin, Destin Daniel Cretton, Brett Ratner, Alfred Gough, Jesse v Johnson or even Joey Ansah. He knows the Street Fighter lore and needs a production company or movie studio except for Universal and the 20th century. The movie needs to be accurate and respectful to the source material, lore of the Street Fighter universe. It requires a diverse cast of actors to play the original characters such as Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, and M.Bison and create new characters for the movie. Suppose the film is good by reviews and ratings or critics. In that case, I think to expand it by having sequels or spin-offs similar to the MCU and DCEU. Also, capcom needs to make another anime series/movie separate from the live-action film and introduce a new storyline and diverse characters. That is what I want for the Street Fighter franchise.
